Melting

Alumina actively uses 3 different alloy types in serial Production.
– EN AC 46000 (GDAlSi9Cu3)
– EN AC 44300 (GDAlSi12)
– EN AC 47100 (GDAlSi12Fe)

Each alloy type is melted on a dedicated shaft furnace in order to prevent the risk of alloy mixage. The total daily melting capacity of the foundry is 86 tons.

The melted alloy is treated/cleaned in fully automated degassing system with flux injection.

The additional controls such as density-index, k-mould test are regularly performed in order to ensure the quality of the melt alloy.
